About the Child Care Licensing Unit
The Chippewa County Child Care Licensor is here to help you become a licensed family child care provider. We strive to ensure that children are cared for in quality, safe, nurturing and culturally responsive settings. We are responsible for licensing and monitoring all licensed family child care programs in Chippewa county.
Our Services
- Answer questions regarding applying for a license.
- Provide ongoing support providers
- Conduct annual home visits
- Investigate licensing complaints
- Conduct annual background studies on the providers, household members, and/or anyone helping, substituting or assisting with the child care program
- Make referrals to Child Care Aware and other licensing support services.
